GMID is an annual celebration that brings together leaders, industry peers and industry professionals across the globe both virtually and in-person highlighting why Meetings and Events are an economic and social driver of many individuals, companies, regions and countries.
Business events is a $1.6 USD trillion industry, based on the 2023 Global Economic Significance of Business Events study by the Events Industry Council (EIC) and Oxfords Economics. This extensive research ensures the value and impact that the meetings and events play in our economies.
The first GMID took place on April 14, 2016 by The Meetings Mean Business Coalition (MMBC). MMBC was created in 2009 by the U.S. Travel Association.
