First two hotels achieve the Safe Travels Stamp in the Philippines

This week Department Of Tourism (DOT) announced that Joy Nostalg Hotels & Suites Manila and Grand Hyatt Manila are the first hotels in the Philippines to obtain the Safe Travels Stamp by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).

 

With this stamp, it is easier for travelers and tourism stakeholders to identify those destinations and companies that are complying and have implemented the health and hygiene protocols providing consistency to ensure the safety of travelers.

 

Joy Nostalg Manila & Suites Manila is a deluxe residence with 229 five-star rooms and spacious suites with world class amenities, located in Ortigas in Pasig City.

 

Grand Hyatt Manila has 461 guest rooms and occupies the top 25 floors located in Bonifacio Global City.

Makati Shangri-La closing down temporarily

Shangri-La Group announced this week by an Official Statement that Makati Shangri-La is closing temporarily due to the pandemic, the last day of operations is February 1st., 2021.

 

As many other companies in our industry, Makati Shangri-La has mitigated the financial impact with salary reduction at the management level, shorter work weeks, supporting their employees but after all the efforts the hotel make the decision to close temporary until the business conditions improve.

 

The luxurious hotel located in the central business area started operations on April 27, 1993. “The Shangri-La Makati was known as one of the first International five-star properties at a time where few large chains were present in the Philippines capital.”

 

The complex features 696 guest rooms and suites in area, the hotel was designed by Kanko Kikaku Sekkeisha, Yozo Shibata & Association & G. Formoso & Partners.

IMEX Frankfurt 2021 Cancelled

For the second consecutive year, IMEX Group has announced the cancellation of IMEX Frankfurt 2021 due to the pandemic, the event was scheduled for May 12-14 at Messe Frankfurt in Germany

 

Since their first show in 2003, IMEX Frankfurt has been the largest and it is the most important show in the Meetings and Events Industry with 3400+ Exhibitors, 170+ countries, 250+ Educational sessions.

 

The dates for the show on 2022 are set for 26-28 April and IMEX America 2021 is expected to happen on November 9-11 in Las Vegas.

 

The announcement has surprised the entire industry, but the actual situation is forcing the organizers and parties involved to make important decision. We cannot wait to get back to business and meet again.
