5 Years Anniversary | M&SE

This week is a very special week for M&SE because we are celebrating our first five years in business which makes us very proud.

 

Our journey started five years ago, M&SE – MICE and Special Events was created with the purpose to deliver amazing event experiences with the knowledge of the local and international events industry implementing the best practices to achieve high-quality standards. 

 

M&SE stands for MICE and Special Events.  M represents MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) and SE stands for Special Events. Have you seen the red ampersand sign? Well, it represents a red tie for corporate business events in color red for our passion and commitment to the events industry.

M&SE is one of the first companies in the Philippines that has members internationally certified in the events industry, the certifications are globally recognized and have a high level of expertise, credibility and represents professionalism in the MICE Industry. Furthermore, we won our very first awards as Philippines’ Best MICE Organiser 2021.

It has been a total roller coaster, for instance who would imagine that we would survive a global pandemic and recover from this massive outbreak? It has been a learning process in so many ways and we are entirely thankful to all clients and stakeholders that have believed in us.

M&SE is nominated for the World MICE Awards 2022

We are delighted to announce that for the second time in a road M&SE – MICE and Special Events is nominated to the 3rd Annual World MICE Awards in the category for Philippines’ Best MICE Organiser 2022. 

 

World MICE Awards recognize and reward excellence in the MICE industry. More than 150 countries around the world participate in these awards. The categories are; Best MICE Destination, Best Convention Centre, Best MICE Hotel, Best MICE Airline, Best MICE Organiser, Best New MICE Hotel, and Best Incentive Hotel. 

 

Philippines entered four categories, in addition to the Philippines’ Best MICE Organiser, where we are nominated, the categories are;  Philippines’ Best Convention Centre, Philippines’ Best MICE Hotel, Philippines’ Best Incentive Hotel.

Global Exhibitions Day 2022

Global Exhibitions Day (GED) celebrates the 7th edition today.  GED recognizes the value and impact of physical exhibitions and business events not only in the local communities but worldwide.

 

The event sector was hit hard by COVID-19 and after two years of global pandemic, the repercussions were enormous to the industry. On the contrary, the exhibitions and events industry showed resilience and adaptability to the challenges.

 

Many regions and countries have gradually opened, and the events sector is back on track, accelerating the pace of economic recovery, rebuilding business, reconnecting people and developing meaningful relationships.

 

There is no question about the demand of physical events, the industry is coming stronger than ever continuing with the safety protocols. In person business events are irreplaceable and there is not a better day than today to expose the value of our industry, business and professionals are encouraged to be part of this celebration and continue supporting this campaign.

 

GED is an initiative driven by The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI).

SMX Clark open its doors

SMX Convention Center Clark officially open its doors today, a property of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp. (SMHCC) operating convention centers and trade halls through SMX Convention Center adding to their portfolio the eight exhibition and convention centers in the Philippines.

 

SMX Clark is strategically located in the central business hub of Pampanga just 15 minutes from Clark International Airport, beside Park Inn by Radisson Clark and SM City Clark mall complex which makes the perfect setting.

 

The exhibition and convention center has over 4,000 sqm of leasable space in two levels, with 3 halls, 3 function rooms, 14 meeting rooms and over 3,350 parking slots around the complex.

Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) is the most important day that recognizes the value of the meetings and events worldwide. An industry celebration held across the globe by leaders and professionals, the significance of this day is to acknowledge the impact of meetings on the global economy.

 

The event industry has faced one of the biggest challenges due to the global pandemic and it has heavily affected global events. Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions (MICE) and Special Events have demonstrated the flexibility and adaptability against difficult times. 

 

A series of events will be gathered both virtually and in-person with the theme Meet Safe. GMID2022 validates that events do matter, event professionals are ready to meet safely with the highest safety protocols in place and there is not a better day than today to commemorate the real power of our industry and celebrate the successful return to face-to-face events.

 

The very first GMID took place on April 14, 2016 by The Meetings Mean Business Coalition (MMBC). MMBC was created in 2009 by the U.S. Travel Association with the purpose to showcase the value of business events.

 

Great things happen when people come together! We at M&SE encourage safe events to reactivate and promote our industry on the road to recovery.

Event industry leaders stand against the crisis in Ukraine

Top leaders in the events industry stand united against the crisis in Ukraine and condemn the acts of Russia. 

 

IMEX Group announced to exclude Russian enterprises from participating in the coming show at Messe Frankfurt. Events Industry Council (EIC) shared a statement standing with Ukraine and urging all parties towards a peaceful resolution. On the other hand, the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) is committed to contributing to the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund. Meeting Professionals International (MPI) suspended business with all companies in Russia and the chapter in Russia will be paused and many more events and leaders stand together.

 

On the other hand, mass gatherings and sporting events like Eurovison song contest announced that Russia no longer be allowed to participate in this year event. Russian Grand Prix is cancelled and UEFA decided to relocated the Champions League final.

 

Events are designed to bring people together in the right environment balancing health and social well-being for all the parties involved.

Metro Manila is under alert level 1

Metro Manila and 38 other areas will be under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15. Areas under this level have no restrictions in travel, and all establishments shall be permitted to operate at full capacity.

 

“Alert Level 1 refers to areas wherein case transmission is low and decreasing, total bed utilization rate, and intensive care unit utilization rate is low.”

 

Great news for the event industry as venues such as concert halls, theaters, meeting venues, hotels, and more can operate 100% capacity. The minimum public health standards will still be strictly enforced.

 

Nevertheless, we need to continue following the health and safety protocols and don’t let our guard down.

Philippines welcomes fully vaccinated tourists

Close to two years of a global pandemic, The Philippines reopens borders and allows the entry to fully vaccinated foreign nationals from more than 150 countries starting on February 10, 2022.

 

Travel to the Philippines for business and tourism purposes are granted to enter the country without a visa for a period of stay of thirty (30) days or less.

 

Based on the IATF –EID Resolution 160-B, all arriving visitors must be able to present the following:

  • Proof of vaccination. 
  • Negative RT-PCR Test taken within 48 hours before the date and time of departure from the country of origin / first port of embarkation in a continuous travel to the Philippines, excluding lay-overs for their return journey.
  • Valid tickets for their return journey to the port of origin or next port of destination not later than 30 days from date of arrival in the Philippines.
  • Passports valid for a period of at least six months at the time of their arrival to the Philippines.

  • Travel insurance for Covid-19 treatment costs from reputed insurers, with a minimum coverage of US$35,000 for the duration of their stay in the Philippines.
